Jon Hesketh Drafted In 20th Round Of MLB First Year Player Draft

Burnaby Bulldogs LHP Jon Hesketh (New Mexico U) was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 20th round of todays first year player draft.  Jon, a Senior at New Mexico, has played for the Bulldogs during his summer break since joining the team in 2005.

A standout at New Mexico this past season, Jon will likely report to the Everett Aqua Sox of the North West League after signing.

Brandon Kaye Drafted In 45th Round Of MLB First Year Draft

Burnaby Collegiate Bulldogs RHP Brandon Kaye (Douglas College / c-UBC) was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 45th round of todays first year player draft.  Brandon, playing this summer as a sophomore transfer for the Calgary Dawgs of the WMBL, played last year for the Collegiate team and joined the Senior team at the Grand Forks International Tournament.
