Redfield Dairy Queen wins region title with wins over Aurora, Castlewood

Redfield Dairy Queen entered the Class A North Region tournament Saturday, August 3, as the top seed and won its first two games to capture the region title and a trip to the Class A state tournament.

Dairy Queen won its first game against Aurora by a score of 13-6. They beat Castlewood 5-4 in the nightcap in a thrilling game that ended with a two-run, walk-off single by Brendon Hoellein to capture the win and the title.

Redfield will play Vermillion in the opening round of the Class A State Tournament Friday, August 9, at 5:30 p.m. Mountain Time in Rapid City.
