2014

Oregon started there "Little Ten" week playing Oconomowoc on Tuesday night earning a 3-1 victory behind great pitching from Logan Laski.  Abe Maurice clutched up with 2 on in the bottome of the 6th to break the 1-1 tie and score 2 and give the Panthers the victory.  Oregon continues to play the Little Ten conference this week tonight as they head to Watertown and then another Little Ten opponent Saturday as they play Wisonsin Lutheran at Kapko Park in Mequon.

The Panthers finished the conference season with two exciting victories this week.  Oregon battled Edgewood Tuesday night at Warner Park and ended up winning in the 9th inning on a squeeze play that knocked in Pierce Peterson and notched the only run of the game.  Last night saw Monona Grove come to OHS and the Panthers won the game 4-0 behind Mitch Weber who threw a 1 hit gem on the mound.  Oregon will host MG again Tues. June 3rd for Regionals.  Before the WIAA tourney starts Oregon has 3 games next week.  Tuesday OHS hosts Oconomowoc, Thursday Oregon heads to Watertown and Saturday OHS travels to Kapko Park to play Wisconsin Lutheran.

Oregon notched another w in conference play Friday night as they defeated Monroe 6-1.  Panthers played again on Saturday against Badger North foe, Reedsburg who ended up defeating the Panthers 11-3 in Fort Atkinson.  Oregon now plays at Madison Edgewood tonight at 7:30 and then host Monona Grove Thursday night for Senior Night.  The Panthers earned the #7 seed in the tournament which matches them up with Monona Grove again.  The two will face each other in Regionals at Oregon on Tuesday June 3rd at 5pm.

Oregon has been on a roller coaster as of late.  After losing to MG last Wednesday they bounced back to uphend previously undefeated in conference, Stoughton on Friday and then lost to Fort Atkinson last night 9-0.  Panthers hope to get back on track tomorrow as they host Monroe.  Saturday the Panthers head to Fort Atkinson to play Reedsburg participating in the first annual Badger Challenge.

The Panthers have played 4 games in 4 days and suffered a tough loss to Verona last Friday and split a DH on Saturday with Portage and Lafollette.  Last night saw Oregon lose to Waunakee 4-1.  Oregon keeps the games moving along as they get set to play at Milton tonight and at Monona Grove tomorrow before ending the week on Friday playing host to Stoughton.

Wednesday saw the Panthers heading to Miller Park to play Libertyville HS from Libertyville, IL currently ranked 7th in the Illinois rankings.  The Panthers battled and had the lead going into the 5th inning before Libertyville rallied to score 6 in the top of the 5th and the Panthers couldn't recover.  Oregon now plays Verona tonight and hosts Portage and Madison Lafollette this weekend.

The Panthers finished last week 2-1 as they defeated Madison Edgewood Friday night.  The Panthers jump back into action Tuesday night as they travel to Monona Grove.  Wednesday the Panthers get to play in Miller Park as they play against Illinois Powerhouse, Libertyville H.S.  The Panthers then head to Verona on Friday night and then play a twinbill Saturday at UW Whitewater.  Saturday the Panthers play Madison Lafollette and Portage....busy week of baseball!

Oregon had two tough 5-4 games this week.  Monday saw the Panthers lose to Stoughton 5-4 in 10 innings on Monday night and get the 5-4 victory on Tuesday night at Monroe.  Now the Panthers will host Madison Edgewood tonight.

Oregon suffered there first conference loss Thursday night to Fort Atkinson who remained unbeaten in conference play at 3-0.  The Panthers couldn't capitolize on baserunners stranding 12 runners on base.  Panthers hope to rebound in conference play this week as they play 3 conference games this week @ Stoughton today, @ Monroe tomorrow and Madison Edgewood home on Thursday.

Saturday saw Oregon face Badger North opponent Deforest in a non conference doubleheader.  Deforest dominated game 1 in route to a 10-0 win in five innings.  Game 2 brought a different result and better play out of the Panthers as Oregon took a 7-2 win to end the day.  Oregon was lined up to play Stoughton yesterday, but a comination of weather and poor field conditions postponed that game and a reschedule date has yet to be determined.  Next up for Oregon is Fort Atkinson who come to Oregon Thursday night in a Badger South showdown.  Fort comes into the game off to a 2-0 start in the Badger South in sole possession of first place.

Milton came to Oregon last night and the Panthers got their first W in conference play.  Panthers got off to a 2-0 lead after four innings and then in the 5th inning the Panthers put up 5 runs and never looked back as they beat Milton 9-1.  Oregon looks to host Deforest in a non conference DH Saturday, first pitch for game 1 is 1:30pm.

Oregon suffered a tough extra inning game Tuesday night vs. Waunakee.  Oregon got off to lead but couldn't hold on as the Warriors battled back to tie up the game in the 5th inning.  Waunakee eventually won the game 5-4 in the bottom  of the 8th.  Panthers have to bounce back as they get ready for Badger South Conference play this Thursday as they host Milton to get conference play started.

Panthers are in full swing with two games under their belt.  Oregon is 1-1 vs. two Big Eight teams.  Panthers suffered a loss in game 1 vs. Beloit Memorial last Tuesday and got a win vs. Madison West last night.  No time to celebrate as the Panthers head to Waunakee tonight in a Badger North vs. Badger South showdown.

The 2014 season is underway with week 1 of practices concluding.  Next week starts the season off for the Panthers as they host Beloit Memorial on Tuesday to kick things off.  Beloit Memorial ended the Panthers season in 2013 defeating the Panthers in Beloit to advance to sectionals.  Following Tuesdays game, Oregon is heading to Madison West on Thursday to get their second game of the 2014 season.  Hope to see you out at the ballpark!
