Mac Batchelor WP went 5 complete allowing 3 runs on 6 hits striking out 4.

 

Anthony Friesen came in for the final two allowing 1 run on 4 hits striking out two.

 

Offensively the boys scored 6 runs on 6 hits.

 

They clawed their way back into the game with singles in both the 3rd and the 4th. The boys managed to silence the large home town crowd when they pulled ahead in the bottom of the 5th scoring 4 more runs and pulling ahead and never looking back. Anthony Friesen came in in the top of the sixth as the rain continued to fall he took out the side in order. There appeared to be some control issues in the 7th but in MVP Form Tony battled hard and with two out threw a fly ball strike caught by the catcher Brett Schreyer. And the rest as they say is history.

 

The Manitoba Junior Baseball League will be sending a League All-Star team to the Junior National Baseball Championships in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec from August 19th to the 22nd. The criteria used to select the players included their performance this year, their past performance and experience at National Championships as well as their tenure with the Manitoba Junior Baseball League. The coaching staff also factored in the team dynamics and selected players to fill specific roles.
