Alex Hlas-Ross gets the win as the Giants defeat the Community Park Reds in dramatic fashion. The Giants were trailing the Reds 8 - 3 after the 3rd inning and it looked like it take the Tuesday came to settle the champion. The manager of Giants, Jordon Salmon was able to instill the fight to win into the team and the Giants started their compack by putting up 3 runds in the 4th inning, another 2 in the 6th inning and put the icing on the cake with a bases loaded walk off 2 RBI single by Brady Orich for a final score of 11-10 for the Giants.
Community tried to make a late charge in the game but outfielders Brady Orich and Jesse Wueful both threw out runners at the plate to stop REds' comebacks.
The Giants advance to the Senior League National Championship in Thunder Bay from July 31 - August 7.
With the Community Park Reds defeating the Airdrie A's int he Semi-final yesterday, the table has been set for the completion of the Senior League Baseball Alberta Divisonal Championships with the LEthbridge Giants hosting the Community Park Reds at 6:00 PM at Nolan Yard. If the Giants win tonights game they will advance as Provincial Champion to the Senior League National Tournament in Thunder Bay, Ontario. In order for the Reds to advance, they will need to beat the Giants, twice.
Dylan Swanson was the winning pitcher for the Giants first game against the Airdrie A's with a final score of 9-6. Cade Hollingsworth was the winner in the Giants' second game against the Community Park Reds with a final score of 14-8.
The Giants next game is Monday, July 22 @ 6:00 PM against the winner of the semi-final game between Airdrie and Cmmunity Park.
The Semi-final game will be at 1:00 PM Sunday, July 21.
