Volunteer Recognition for Skyler Pearson

The U15 AA Pembina West Rocket team recognized Skyler Pearson for his dedication behind the scenes for their team.
The honour was presented to Skylar at the team’s home game held on Sunday, February 4th against the Kenora Thistles. A special jersey was given to him, and he carried out the ceremonial puck drop.
“Skylar does Facebook post, game updates, and player profiles.
He is our biggest fan! And he had done it for the past three years – even though his brother is not un the team any longer,” noted Eileen Leslie, manager.
“Sky is an avid hockey fan and enjoys sport statistics. He had a keen interest in the Rockets as his brother and his friends have been players on the team.
This year he wanted to share the team’s journey and achievements on social media,” emphasized Belinda Pearson, mother.
“A group of us got talking a few weeks back about doing something for Skylar. We wanted to let him know how appreciated he is to this team and community. The first thing that same to out minds was giving him his very own jersey. Making Skylar an honourary member of the Pembina West Rockets was a no-brainer.
Skylar bleeds positivity and everyone in attendance Sunday saw that. Skyler’s love for his Rockets is unmeasurable, and the team wanted to make sure he knew just how much he is loved,” concluded Shawn Grice, team parent.
