|
12th grader Andres Corredor and 11th grader Maximo Agoglia won their quarterfinal match over Turner Brown and Lucas Fumagelli (New Braunfels) 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. It was a match that had a few ups and downs, but they prevailed becoming the FIRST boys from CRHS to win and match at state and receive a medal!
In the semi-finals they played Nathaniel Lammons and Nauveen Beasley (College Park). The only loss this team had ever had in school tennis was to Maximo and Andres in January. This school year they had split with this team. They got off to a slow start and came on stronger in the second set only to go down 6-2, 6-4. The College Park team won handily in the final. The draws at state are random and we were unfortunate to face this team in the semis instead of the finals.
Maximo and Andres had an unbelievable year, becoming one of the top teams in the state and finished with an overall record of 46-6. They compete with the upmost respect for themselves and their opponents and are to be congratulated for their accomplishments
