Burnsville scored three unearned runs in the first inning.  Jeremy Chlan hit a two RBI triple for Burnsville.  Jeremy Chlan singled, stole second, and scored on a single by Robby Wiens that went by the right fielder.  Tony Kley stroked a long home run to left in the fourth for Winsted. Josh Anthony followed with a single and scored on a single by Cullen Schultz.  Schultz scored on a single by Marc Kohler. Two more singles by Jake Prehn and Curtis Herbolsheimer scored Kohler to tie the game. Schultz singled in another run in the fifth. Scott Lindner drove in the tying run in the sixth with a double.  Matt Trocke followed with an RBI single to take the lead at 6-5 for Burnsville.  Chad Eul hit a sac fly to score the seventh run for Burnsville.  In the ninth, Eul doubled in an insurance run.  David Keeney followed with a three run home run to make it 11-5.  Jacobson threw a complete game for Burnsville.

Justin Juergensen doubled and Ryan Kaping singled him in for the 1-0 Hutchinson lead. John Means singled home the first Savage run.  Then Zach Harazin recorded an RBI groundout to drive in the second run of the inning. Ben Braaten had an RBI single and Savage also scored a run on an overthrow to make the score 4-1 after seven.  Pugliese threw a complete game for Savage.

Section Five--Savage is Champion, Burnsville runner-up

2010 Section 5 Playoffs:

Savage is the #1 seed in this section.  They get a first round bye.  This is a best two out of three scenario in the first round.

Sunday August 1st

Burnsville 11 vs. Inver Grove Heights 0  (Chad Eul was 4-4 with 3 RBI.  Jacob Dahl threw complete game 4 hitter). 

Elko 3 vs. Lakeville 2 (Ash Larson two run double in 8th)

Rosemount 14 vs. Eagan 1 (Matt Johnson threw a complete game 4 hitter.  John Bauer had 4 RBI)

Monday August 2nd -

Eagan 10, Rosemount 7  (Roy Larson 4 RBI)

Lakeville 3, Elko 7  (Brian Muell 8+ innings for win)

Tuesday August 3rd

Inver Grove Heights 0, Burnsville 14

Sunday August 8th - all at Elko 

Savage 3 Eagan 0  (Pugliese throws shutout)

Burnsville 7, Elko 2  (Casey Jacobson complete game win)

Savage 3, Burnsville 2 (Ben Turnwall got win, Tony Peterson got save) Savage to State

The CVL 2009 Regular Season Champions were the Rosemount Black Sox. Since Rosemount beat Eagan two out of three games, Rosemount held the tie-breaker and took the 2009 CVL regular season title.
