Countdown to NBA Finals Game 1
(Jun 8/06)

December 10, 2008 - Almost!

It's Finals time!!!

Dwayne Wade and the Heat have already punched their ticket to the 2006 NBA Finals, and now the Dallas Mavericks have joined them. This should be a great matchup, as both teams are looking for their first NBA Finals title. The Heat, led by future Hall of Famer Pat Riley, are making their first Finals appearance. With players like Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade, the Heat should have a good chance of winning. The Mavericks are also making their first NBA Finals appearance, with Coach of the Year Avery Johnson at the helm. Sharpshooters Dirk Nowitzki and Josh Howard are looking to bring a title to Dallas. Here's how the two teams match up:

Center:

Miami: Shaquille O'Neal
Dallas: Erick Dampier
Edge: HEAT
Reason: This one's a no brainer. Dampier is a good center, but looks like a minor-league player compared to Shaq. Shaq was the dominator all the way through the playoffs, especially in the Pistons series.

Guards:

Miami: Dwyane Wade, Jason Williams
Dallas: Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse
Edge: HEAT
Reason: Come on, this one's another one that you don't even have to think about. Dwyane Wade is one of the game's best players, and Jason Williams is the best NBA role player. Williams is the Heat's "Steve Nash". Terry and Stackhouse will have to have a GREAT series to beat the Miami Heat.
